I shall refer him back to the doctor again to assess his failure of self-treatments and persistent pain which I suspect is due to vein inflammation. I think alternative vein treatment /procedure should be considered rather than taking NSAID everyday.

- Phlebitis (chronic inflammation of the vein)
- Formation of leg ulcers that could be due to scratching of the itchy skin or injury to the thin skin over the varicose vein
- Rupture of a varicose vein
