Case: Varicose Veins [II]

Continue from past entry.

You can read more about varicose veins at Medline Plus or Merck.com.

Complications of varicose veins may include:
  • Phlebitis (chronic inflammation of the vein)
  • Formation of leg ulcers that could be due to scratching of the itchy skin or injury to the thin skin over the varicose vein
  • Rupture of a varicose vein

I shall refer him back to the doctor again to assess his failure of self-treatments and persistent pain which I suspect is due to vein inflammation. I think alternative vein treatment /procedure should be considered rather than taking NSAID everyday.
